Peer Review Process

The selection of articles for publication in Jurnal Abdi Kesehatan dan Kedokteran (JAKK) is conducted through a double-blind peer review process, focusing on nursing, health sciences, and applied practice development. Editors and reviewers provide constructive feedback to authors based on the evaluation results.

The review process in JAKK typically takes approximately 8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability. The steps involved are as follows:

1. Initial Screening (Week 1)

  • Submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial office to ensure alignment with JAKK's focus and scope.
  • Authors are promptly notified if the manuscript does not meet scope requirements. A recommendation may be provided to submit to a more suitable journal.

2. Editorial Review (Week 1–2)

  • Manuscripts are checked for similarity.
  • If the similarity index exceeds 20%, authors are requested to revise the manuscript.
  • If plagiarism concerns remain unresolved, the Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject the submission. This decision is final.

3. Peer Review (Week 2–6)

  • Manuscripts that pass editorial review are assigned to two independent reviewers for double-blind review, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers.
  • Reviewers assess the manuscript’s scientific contribution, originality, methodology, and relevance to nursing and health sciences.
  • Only manuscripts meeting the required standards proceed to the next stage.

4. Editorial Decision (Week 6–7)

  • Reviewer reports are compiled, and the editor evaluates all feedback.
  • If revisions are required (minor or major), the manuscript is returned to the authors along with reviewer comments.
  • While reviewers provide recommendations, the final decision on acceptance or rejection lies with the Editor and Editor-in-Chief.

5. Final Revision and Scheduling (Week 7–8)

  • Authors submit revised manuscripts addressing reviewer comments.
  • Once revisions are approved, the manuscript is scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue of JAKK, as determined by the Editor-in-Chief.

Total duration: approximately 8 weeks from submission to final decision, depending on reviewer availability and revision timelines.
