Authors Guidelines

1. Registration & Submission

  • To submit a manuscript, authors must register and log in to the JAKK Editorial Manager.
  • Manuscripts can only be uploaded after all required documents are prepared according to the guidelines.
  • All submissions undergo editorial review, plagiarism check, and format assessment before peer review. Manuscripts failing initial assessment will be rejected without peer review.
  • All communications are electronic, via email or WhatsApp.

2. General Requirements

  • Language: Indonesian or English.
  • Manuscripts must not have been published previously in journals with ISSN/ISBN.
  • Manuscript type: scientific study (case study, literature review, perspective study), with unique, difficult, or rare cases.
  • Manuscripts should be written as articles, not reports, following correct grammar.
  • Authors are responsible for the manuscript content. The editorial office may edit without changing scientific content.
  • Manuscripts and illustrations become the legal property of the publisher. Re-publication elsewhere requires official permission.
  • Support from authors is expected by citing JAKK-published references where relevant.

3. Manuscript Preparation

  • File format: MS Word using JAKK template.
  • Two-column layout, Times New Roman 10, A4 paper, single-spaced. Margins: left 25 mm, right 20 mm, top 25 mm, bottom 20 mm.
  • Length: 4000–7000 words.
  • Figures: JPEG, ≥300 dpi.
  • Tables: embedded in text, numbered with Arabic numerals, Times New Roman 10 bold for titles.
  • References: APA 7th style, managed using Mendeley. Minimum 10 references, ≥80% from primary sources (journals), ≤10 years old.

4. Title & Author Information

  • Title ≤20 words describing the full content.
  • Include author names, institutions, and emails.

5. Abstract

  • Written in Indonesian and English.
  • Single paragraph: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion, Keywords (3–5).
  • Times New Roman italic 10, max 250 words.

6. Introduction

Minimum 4 paragraphs:
  1. Problem & Impact – research or PKM problem, impact on community/health.
  2. Justification/Prevalence – magnitude of the problem, prevalence data.
  3. Causative Factors – causes → manifestations/signs & symptoms → problems generated → impact.
  4. Role of Health Professionals – nurse/healthcare role → chosen solutions → rationale → research/PKM objectives.

7. Methods

Design, Participants, and Setting

  • In research or community service models, the design should still be explicitly stated, such as “correlational,” “cross-sectional,” “experimental,” and others.
  • Population and sample size.
  • Sampling technique.
  • Inclusion & exclusion criteria.
  • Independent and dependent variables.
  • Research/PKM location.

Instruments

  • Describe instruments used for each variable.
  • Include tables of questionnaires/instruments or attach in Appendix.
  • Explain scoring and categorization.
  • State validity and reliability or source of instrument.
  • Include screenshots of leaflets, flipbooks, or similar materials if used.

Intervention (If Experimental Design)

  • Name of the intervention administered
  • Intervention procedures / Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Frequency of intervention delivery (e.g., per hour, per week, per month, or dosage)
  • Personnel responsible for administering the intervention

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Step-by-step data collection procedures.
  • Statistical tests and software used (include version).

Ethical Approval

  • For PKM: participants informed about purpose and procedure, voluntary participation, confidentiality maintained, ethical principles respected.
  • For Research: participants given detailed explanation, voluntary, confidentiality ensured, ethical principles upheld, approval obtained from ethics committee (include institution & approval number).

8. Results

  • Include demographic data table.
  • Present results of activity/intervention, including statistical analysis.
  • PKM can include photos of activities.

9. Discussion

  • Minimum 4 paragraphs.
  • Highlight new gaps discovered in research/PKM.
  • Compare with supporting or contrasting references.
  • Explain limitations of research/PKM conducted.

10. Conclusion

  • One paragraph summarizing results.
  • Do not include numbers or statistical results.

11. Acknowledgements

  • Thank respondents, institutions, or locations involved.

12. Conflict of Interest

  • Example: “No conflict of interest declared.”

13. Author Contributions

  • List each author’s name and role.

14. References

  • Minimum 20 references, ≥80% from journals <10 years old.
  • Format: APA 7th using reference manager (Mendeley).

15. Appendices

  • Include questionnaires, instruments, leaflets, or PKM templates.
  • Example instruments can be shown to complement the Methods section.
