One approach to improving children’s verbal communication skills is through stimulation activities, such as role-playing therapy using animal action figure media. This study aimed to determine the effect of role-playing therapy with animal action figure media on the verbal communication abilities of children aged 3–4 years at PAUD Strawberry Pare.

This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group approach. From a population of 45 children, 22 samples were selected using purposive sampling and divided into two groups: 11 children in the intervention group and 11 children in the control group. The research instrument was an observation sheet measuring verbal communication ability. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann–Whitney test.

The results showed that before the intervention, the majority of children in the intervention group (54.5%) were categorized as having poor verbal communication skills, while after the intervention, all children (100%) were categorized as having good verbal communication skills. In the control group, the pretest results indicated that most children (54.5%) were in the poor category, and the posttest results showed that the majority (63.6%) remained in the poor category. The Mann–Whitney test revealed a p-value of 0.000 (α ≤ 0.05), indicating a significant effect of role-playing therapy using animal action figure media on children’s verbal communication abilities.

Animal action figure media were effective in attracting children’s attention and increasing their focus, thereby supporting the improvement of basic vocabulary and articulation skills. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers and parents apply role-playing therapy using animal action figure media regularly, at least once a week, both at school and at home.
Andika Siswoaribowo M. Triage is a critical process for prioritizing patients based on severity, ensuring optimal use of limited medical resources. Nurses are often the first responders responsible for triage implementation, especially in community health centers (Puskesmas) in Indonesia. Knowledge of triage systems, particularly the Simple Triage and Rapid Treatment (START) method, is essential for achieving optimal patient outcomes. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurses’ triage knowledge and length of service in community health centers, providing insights for targeted training and emergency preparedness strategies.

A cross-sectional correlational study was conducted with 32 nurses from 19 community health centers in Cirebon, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. Triage knowledge was assessed using a validated 16-item questionnaire, with scores categorized into low, moderate, and high. Length of service was measured in years. Data were collected via an online session and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis with a significance level of p < 0.05.

Most nurses demonstrated high triage knowledge (75%) with a mean score of 13.0 ± 2.74. Knowledge was highest in disaster definitions (93.8%) and START triage concepts (93.8%), while the most errors occurred in identifying green-labeled (68.8% incorrect) and white-labeled patients (59.4% incorrect). Pearson correlation showed a weak, non-significant positive relationship between length of service and triage knowledge (r = 0.083; p = 0.650).

The findings indicate that length of service alone does not ensure higher triage knowledge, especially in community health centers with limited exposure to emergencies. Continuous professional development, scenario-based simulations, and structured training are essential to maintain and enhance nurses’ triage competence. These results can inform the development of targeted educational programs and policies to strengthen emergency preparedness in primary healthcare settings.
Heru Suwardianto Ahmad Guntur Alfianto Octavio Daniel Bria Amaral P Vijay Vijay K. Nurses’ affective competence, including confidence, motivation, and emotional readiness, is crucial for effective triage. However, the relationship between length of service and affective competence remains underexplored in Indonesian community health centers.

This cross-sectional study involved 27 nurses from 18 community health centers in Banten Province, Indonesia. A 15-item 4-point Likert questionnaire assessed affective competence in START triage, categorized into low, moderate, and high levels. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analyzed the relationship between length of service and affective competence, with significance set at p < 0.05.

Respondents were nearly evenly distributed by gender (48.1% male, 51.9% female) with a mean age of 37.07 ± 7.01 years and mean work experience of 14.81 ± 7.40 years. Most nurses (70.8%) demonstrated high affective competence, 29.2% moderate, and none low. Participants reported high confidence in understanding, explaining, and applying START, although some experienced difficulty in real-life scenarios. Correlation analysis indicated no significant relationship between length of service and affective competence (r = -0.053, p = 0.793).

Nurses’ affective competence appears more influenced by training and practical experience than years of service. With the increasing demand for accurate health data, proper disease coding has become increasingly important, including at the Brimob Clinic of the South Kalimantan Regional Police, which provides healthcare services for police personnel and their families. Inaccurate diagnostic coding may lead to errors in case documentation, administrative delays, and potentially compromise the quality of health program planning and evaluation. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the accuracy of disease coding and examine the role of healthcare workers’ knowledge as a determining factor.

This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The respondents were healthcare workers directly involved in diagnostic documentation and disease coding at the Brimob Clinic of the South Kalimantan Regional Police. The independent variable was healthcare workers’ knowledge of disease coding based on ICD-9 and ICD-10, while the dependent variable was the accuracy of disease coding. Data were collected using a standardized knowledge questionnaire and medical record document audits to assess the consistency between medical diagnoses and the assigned disease codes.

The results showed that healthcare workers’ knowledge levels varied, and discrepancies between medical diagnoses and recorded disease codes were still identified. Statistical analysis using the Spearman rho test revealed a significant association between healthcare workers’ knowledge and the accuracy of disease coding, indicating that higher knowledge levels were associated with more accurate diagnostic coding.

This study concludes that healthcare workers’ knowledge plays a vital role in ensuring accurate disease coding. High school adolescents are in a transitional phase that is vulnerable to psychosocial stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma, particularly due to academic pressures, social relationships, and developmental changes. Lack of knowledge and awareness about mental health leads to delays in recognizing symptoms and seeking help. This community service activity aims to increase adolescents' knowledge and understanding of mental health concepts, the types, signs, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma, and to equip students with simple coping strategies for dealing with psychological problems.

This activity uses a health education design with a pre-survey baseline approach and counseling intervention. The target group is 18 students at an integrated Islamic high school, with characteristics of adolescent age. The variables measured include levels of anxiety, depression, and psychological trauma. The instruments used in the initial screening were the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) for anxiety, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) for depression, and the PC-PTSD-5/TESI to identify trauma risk. The intervention was carried out through mental health education and the practice of simple coping strategies, such as deep breathing techniques and stress management.

Pre-survey results indicated that the majority of students experienced moderate to severe mental health problems. Anxiety levels were predominantly in the moderate (55.6%) and severe (38.9%) categories, while depression was in the moderate (50%) and severe (50%) categories. The risk of psychological trauma was predominantly in the moderate (72.2%) category, followed by severe trauma (22.2%). These findings indicate high mental health vulnerability among high school adolescents and the need for systematic promotive and preventive interventions.

This community service activity concluded that mental health education, accompanied by initial screening and training in simple coping strategies, is a relevant and necessary effort to increase adolescents' awareness and ability to manage mental health issues. The population in this study consists of children aged 4-5 years at TK Dharma Wanita 1, TK Dharma Wanita 2, and TK Dharma Wanita 3, totaling 127 children.

The research results obtained a significance value of p = 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, this indicates that there is an effect of the duration of gadget use on the social-emotional development of early childhood children. The r value = -0.663 indicates that the two variables have a strong negative relationship between the duration of gadget use and the social-emotional development of early childhood children, where long gadget use leads to low social-emotional development in young children.

Based on the research results, the relationship between the duration of gadget use and the social-emotional development of early childhood children can be concluded as follows: The research results show that most respondents use gadgets for more than 1 hour a day. The research results also show that most respondents have low social-emotional development.
Rizki Bahtiyar Ardyansah Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2026-01-30 2026-01-30 5 1 371 383 10.55018/jakk.v5i1.176 Pelatihan Pembuatan Biskuit Booster Asi Dan Perawatan Payudara Untuk Meningkatkan Volume Asi Ibu Menyusui https://jakk.candle.or.id/index.php/jakk/article/view/138
The low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in Mojo Rejo Village, Rejang Lebong Regency, is influenced by multiple factors, including limited maternal knowledge of lactation management, inadequate breast care techniques, and suboptimal nutritional intake during breastfeeding. This community service program aimed to implement research findings through an integrated training approach to increase breast milk volume and improve the success of exclusive breastfeeding.

The program was conducted in the form of training sessions for breastfeeding mothers. The population included all breastfeeding mothers in Mojo Rejo Village, with a sample of 30 participants who attended and actively took part in the activities. The main variables addressed were knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding, skills in preparing breast milk booster biscuits, and skills in performing breast care. The instruments used consisted of educational materials, live demonstrations, and supporting teaching aids. The biscuit-making training utilized locally available ingredients, namely moringa leaf flour (Moringa oleifera) and tuna fish oil (Thunnus sp). The effectiveness of the program was assessed through participatory observation and skill evaluation. Data were analyzed descriptively to measure improvements in participants’ knowledge and practical skills.

The evaluation results showed a 90% increase in participants’ knowledge regarding exclusive breastfeeding. In addition, there was a 70% improvement in participants’ skills in producing breast milk booster biscuits as an alternative supplementary food, and a 100% improvement in their ability to independently perform breast care practices. These findings indicate that the training successfully enhanced mothers’ capacity to optimize breast milk production.

In conclusion, the integrated training program combining lactation education, breast care practice, and the preparation of locally sourced nutritional supplements was effective in improving breastfeeding mothers’ knowledge and skills. As a recommendation, similar mentoring and training models may be adopted by health workers and communities in other areas to address low breast milk production and exclusive breastfeeding coverage, while also empowering local communities through the utilization of local resources.
Kurnia Dewiani Dara Himalaya Suryati Suryati Sri Nengsih Destriyani Wenny Indah Purnama Eka Sari Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2026-01-30 2026-01-30 5 1 384 394 10.55018/jakk.v5i1.138 Kualitas Hidup Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Dengan Gangren Setelah Dilakukan Perawatan Luka Modern https://jakk.candle.or.id/index.php/jakk/article/view/148
The quality of life will be compromised for individuals afflicted with gangrene. Gangrene is the tissue necrosis resulting from vascular obstruction or ischemia. The tumor microenvironment (TME), particularly cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), promotes extracellular matrix remodeling, angiogenesis, immune evasion, and treatment resistance, suggesting CAFs may serve as prognostic and predictive biomarkers. Objective: To evaluate the association between CAFs and overall survival (OS) in BUC and identify clinically relevant CAF-related markers.

Methods: A PRISMA-guided systematic review was performed using PubMed, Cochrane Library, Taylor & Francis, ProQuest, Scopus, and EMBASE (2015–2025). Eligible human studies assessing CAFs/CAF-signatures in BUC were included. Risk of bias was assessed using ROBINS-I.

Results: Nine studies were included. Across cohorts, elevated CAF abundance or CAF-related markers consistently correlated with poorer outcomes. High CAF infiltration in TCGA-BLCA was associated with reduced OS (p=0.003) and advanced stage (p<0.001). Stromal markers such as FAP (HR=2.06) and PDGFRβ (HR=1.75) predicted worse OS, with FAP-dominant phenotypes showing the lowest survival. myCAF- and iCAF-high subtypes were linked to shorter OS (e.g., iCAF cluster p=0.024). Multiple CAF-based gene signatures (e.g., 7-gene models) stratified mortality risk (multivariate HR up to 3.51; AUC 0.88). COL10A1 overexpression also predicted inferior OS. A fibroblast-related gene index (FRGI) showed strong performance in ICI-treated patients (1-year OS AUC=0.95) and was enriched in non-responders.

Conclusion: CAF abundance and subtype composition are robust adverse prognostic indicators in BUC and show promise for risk stratification and treatment decision support, particularly for immunotherapy responsiveness.
Jodii Arlan Kurnia Vico Mardenanta Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 5 1 441 450 10.55018/jakk.v5i1.166 Hubungan Pola Tidur dengan Risiko Diabetes Tipe 2 pada Dewasa Muda https://jakk.candle.or.id/index.php/jakk/article/view/178
The increasing prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) among young adults is closely associated with lifestyle changes and sleep disturbances. Patient education regarding the potential success of therapy plays an important role in improving treatment adherence, trust in medical procedures, and optimization of postoperative functional and aesthetic results.
Eko Gunawan Sukowati Dodhi Kuncoro Setiyo Nugroho Rinna Dwi Lestari Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 5 1 552 562 10.55018/jakk.v5i1.174 Hubungan Antara Ketajaman Visual dan Prestasi Belajar https://jakk.candle.or.id/index.php/jakk/article/view/177
Good vision is essential for students to be able to perform academically and achieve their educational goals. This paper is focused on how visual clarity affects learning improvement among ninth-grade students (14-16 years old) at an Islamic boarding school.

The research focused on a quasi-experimental methodology involving a single group with a pre-test and post-test paradigm. Measuring learning achievement involves assessing standard academic test score differences pre-and post-intervention. These differences were then categorized into distinct ordinal classifications. Participants’ vision acuity was assessed using a Snellen chart and categorized into three different levels: good, moderate, and poor. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze the data.

From the study, it was concluded that visual acuity and learning achievement were unrelated (χ² = 6.34; df = 4; p = 0.1751). Descriptively, students with good visual acuity actually showed higher learning improvement compared to students with poor vision.

Although the result is not statistically significant, the result shows that good vision should be in students for them to perform academically. For students to perform academically, it means supporting students with available resources. Affordable resources include routine vision test evaluation and the provision of glasses if needed.
Joko Satrio Emy Novitasari Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 5 1 563 574 10.55018/jakk.v5i1.177 Evidence-Based Nursing Practice dengan Mobilisasi Dini Berdasarkan Teori Defisit Perawatan Diri Orem pada Pasien Stroke Iskemik: Studi Kasus https://jakk.candle.or.id/index.php/jakk/article/view/156
Ischemic’ stroke is a leading cause of disability and mortality worldwide, particularly among older adults, and requires comprehensive, evidence-based management. Nursing care plays a crucial role in optimizing cerebral perfusion, preventing complications, and promoting functional recovery. This case study aims to describe the implementation of comprehensive nursing care using an Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) approach integrated with Dorothea Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory in a patient with ischemic stroke.Smoking among adolescents remains a major public health concern in Indonesia. One preventive strategy is to enhance students’ self-efficacy to resist peer pressure to smoke. Health education is believed to improve self-efficacy, yet its effectiveness requires further empirical validation.

A'descriptive case study was conducted on a 67-year-old female patient diagnosed with ischemic stroke and admitted to an inpatient ward. Comprehensive nursing assessment included neurological, hemodynamic, respiratory, nutritional, mobility, and self-care status. Assessment instruments used were the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Barthel Index. Nursing diagnoses were established based on the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (SDKI), while interventions and outcomes were planned using the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) and Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI).

The'main nursing diagnoses identified were decreased intracranial adaptive capacity, impaired gas exchange, decreased cardiac output, impaired physical mobility, and nonadherence to the therapeutic regimen. Evidence-based nursing interventions included intracranial pressure management, oxygen therapy, early post-stroke mobilization, self-care support, medication adherence education, and family involvement. Evaluation showed improvement in the patient’s level of consciousness, stabilization of vital signs, reduced headache intensity, increased muscle strength, and enhanced functional independence. NIHSS scores improved from moderate to mild neurological deficit, and the Barthel Index increased from severe to moderate dependency.
Gian M Kurnia Wulan Agusni Susilawati Susilawati Ayatullah Hamami Copyright (c) 2026 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 5 1 575 594 10.55018/jakk.v5i1.156
